Jessi's Birthday Celebration and more

ok, so at least i'm making it a weekly thing. That's better than a monthly thing, or a hardly ever thing at all. So this past week Jessica came home from college and it was her birthday weekend, so let's recap.

Thursday:
Jess came home! We were supposed to go out to Menage on Thursday night, but Jess decided she wanted to stay home and watch Grey's instead (which by the way was really good.. as usual! I mean Haan's kiss with Callie, McSteamy's whorish ways are back, and I feel like something big is about to happen with Derek and Meredith again...oh and Rebecca/Eva and Alex, that's a sad story). Well at least she knows her priorities :)

Friday:
Jessi and Vernon spent the day with TJ. TJ and Vernon are bffs for reals. I mean, how can you deny their friendship... We had lunch together, and then Jess and Vernon took TJ to Kidspace and the played in the playground and everything. So cute! And then that night Jess and I went to Universal City walk in Hollywood for part I of her birthday celebration. We started at the Rhumba Room thinking it would be fun. It was sooo flippin' hot in there. It was a Latin dancing club. We thought it would be a fun change.. yah, um... right. Then finally, Vernon and his cousin met us in Hollywood and suggested we go to Saddle Ranch instead. Now Jess and I were way overdressed for this bar, but it was a blast anyway. There was a mechanical bull and we so wanted to ride, but we figured it would be slightly inappropriate in our little black dresses...

Saturday:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA!!
We both woke up late.. i was ever-so-slightly hung over... not a good look. So we slugged around for a little bit. Then finally we wen
t shopping with mom like we had planned the whole morning, but we didn't end up leaving until 12ish. Well we got new dresses. I bought myself this new dress. Cute huh!? After shopping we had to run and pick up the food and the cake for the party we were having for her with our family at our house. It was crazy! All our family was at this party. It was a bonified Fam-Bam. I, however, was not feeling well. It wasn't because I was ever-so-slightly hung over either. I was running a fever. I had cold sweats on a 100+degree day. That's never a good sign. I so slept for the second half of the party. I woke up just in time to get ready to go out for Part II of Jess' birthday celebration. This time we went to Old Town Pasadena to our fav spot E's. It was not as full as usual, but we still managed to have a great time! It was me, Jess, Vernon, and Vernon's best friend Jason. So we had a good time!

Sunday:
Was yet another busy day...
I went to Janet's Bridal Shower and the rest of the family went to Jackie's graduation celebration. It was fun. Another scortching day out though. But fun nonetheless. Then after was the usual church.

Monday:
Nothing really to report... missed Greek, as usual....No more Hills to watch either.

Tuesday:
Nothing to report again. Dancing with the stars finale was on. Yay Kristie Yamaguchi! But I didn't even follow the show that hard.... Although I though Jason Taylor was a very handsome fellow who was great on his feet.
Oh, Jessica did leave for New Jersey (yes Dirty Jersey) to visit her best friend from college who is transferring to a different school next school year. So she went out there to hang out with her before she started her school again. Poor Jess was stuck in Atlanta for hours (bc that's where her layover was). There was a thunderstorm with lost of lightening and she arrived in Newark, NJ about 6 hours later than her original flight. What sucks more is she was stuck in the plane, on the runway for at least 2.5 hours and they would give anyone food or anything... meanies! Well now she's safe and sound in NJ. She won't be back home until late nest Wednesday night.

Wednesday:
Volleyball night! I was excited about it all day.. but when I got to the gym, there was hardly anyone there. I figured it was because of the Lakers Game. Game I of the Western Conference championships against the Spurs... the ugly Spurs. It was an exciting game. We were down by 20 in the 3rd and came back to win by 2 points or so. I love LA!
Well that was the highlight of the night because volleyball was quite the disappointment. I lost all of my games again. Ugh! Whatever... at least it's volleyball.

So then that brings us up to date. I'm so excited about the two hour Grey's Season Finale! It's supposed to be really REALLY good! So that should do it for now. Until next time (or next week... or sooner :p)

Last week's recap

So, I've been meaning to write since last Friday, then again on Monday, and again on Tuesday, but as you can see, that obviously didn't happen. So I'll take a moment to look back on last week's festivities, fun, and thoughts. Let's start with Friday

Friday:
was a busy day here at Western (the place I work). It's funny because Sonia (one of my new friends.. yeah, I'd call her a friend) always talk about Grey's.. and boy was it good! So, we've come to the conclusion that Haan may really be gay and she's just trying to hide it. Sloan really is a man whore, but I feel like the meeting with the nurses was a turning point
and he may try to change his ways. It's a long shot, but you never know. I'm not a fan of Derek and Ruth and I'm secretly hoping Grey and Derek get back together. As for Alex, I wish Izzy would just tell him that Rebecca/Eva isn't preggers.... That is just so evil to string him along like that.

Saturday:
was a great day! I played in a reverse, co-ed, grass volleyball tournament in Centennial Park in Tustin. May
I just say, before I go on, that park is soooo weird! It's right in the middle of a residential community which is cool and all. But i'm talking like houses are in a circle and the park is right in the middle. Look it up on a map, you'll see what i'm talking about. Anyway, so we were there from 9:00 til about 6:30pm. Yeah it was a long ass day but it was well worth it in the end. Why you ask? Because my partner Christian and I WON THE WHOLE TOURNEY! That's right folks we are Grass Stain Invitational Champions! Yes, we are the shit! As a result I am sun burned yet again (even though I did put on sunscreen this time!) and my shorts and razorback tan is worse than ever. But like I said, it was well worth it!

Sunday:
was Mother's Day! It was my second official Mother's Day! My first official (and by official I mean when TJ was out of my womb) I was sick as a dog in Savannah, GA. So needless to say this one was much better. My dad went above and beyond. My mom invited all of our relatives over so that all the mom's could be together and celebrate together. My dad bbq-ed
some mean ribs and we had a really great lunch/dinner all together. And for this special occasion my parents got me a new pair of shoes. I got these shoes but in a brown subtle animal print. They're so cute. I already had a pair of these but in a red snake skin, but I couldn't pass up another pair. Afterall, they're really cute and most of all, really comfy!

Monday:
was another busy day here at Western...

Tuesday:
was yet another busy day here at Western but I managed to squeeze enough time to watch Greek and the Hills online. I suppose we can start with the Hills...
As my friend Katelin so eloquently put it, "why do we watch this show?". It's sort of ridiculous now! I mean all the drama and stuff, but it's like crack; once you start, it's hard to stop (not that ive ever done anything with crack.. that's just what i've heard). The drama is so fake now and I really just want to slap a ho! haha! No but seriously, why do we watch this show!?! But i just can't get enough of it. Although the whole Heidi, Spencer, Stephanie-can't-hang-out-with-Lauren thing is sort of ridiculous now. Now I would really slap them if I could. Aaaaaanyway no more craziness until August because it was the season finale.. thank goodness!
As for Greek... now I really do like this show. Not just because I was friends with Spencer Grammer (although that does help), it's genuinely a decent show. I think Franny has a secret crush on Evan. Evan is an asshole for paying off Shane (the cute new guy) to not hang out with Casey. And Cappy and Rebecca are the epitome of "Opposites Attract".

Anyway, I'm so excited for today though. Tonight is the ANTM season, i'm sorry, 'cycle' finale! I need to catch up on it online. I need to see who's still in it. shh, don't tell me. I probably won't watch it tonight so don't say anything. It's volleyball night tonight and that is way more important than tv! Aaand, the Lakers play tonight. Game 5 against the Utah Jazz here at the Staples center. All I know is we'd better kick some Jazz A$$. Alright, now that you are sufficiently caught up, I'll go now.... until next time :)

Boo Last Night

So last night pretty much sucked.. Usually Wednesday nights are something I look forward to because it's volleyball night!! I was really happy when I walked in the gym because it was volleyball night. I thought I got a great team and everything! I played the first match.. and lost. But we only lost by a few points.. Second game... another good team... lost. We were up, and we still lost by all of three points... I sat out another game bc there were a ton of people that showed up last night... Game three.. well that pretty much sucked from the beginning, and lost. Three in a row that I lost. last week our team won 8 games! Oh well, you win some you lose some.

Well on my way home from the gym I checked my phone and noticed that I didn't have any text messages or missed calls. That's unusual because I'm loved like that. so i try calling my mom's phone, some message about verizon fraud department. I try calling my dad, my sister, my voicemail even and couldn't do anything. Turns out someone hacked into my phone, released the security code and was making calls from San Diego to Mexico. Because that was suspicious activity, Verizon disconnected my service. That's really smart of them and all, it just sucks that my phone was cut off. that's not the first time it's been cut off too. The first time some idiot Verizon rep accidentally assigned my number to someone else's phone... Oh well, shit happens I guess.

On the upside, i'm taking a day off from the gym to rest up for Saturday's grass tournament. So to celebrate my night off i'm watching Ugly Betty and most of all GREY'S ANATOMY! woot woot! Ok, well i'll end on that good note :)

Until tomorrow... which is FRIDAY!! (another good note)

And I'm Back...We'll see how long this blogging lasts

Hey Y'all! And I say that with pleasure to rep the south a little... Hey though, I'm so grateful to be back in Cali so don't get it twisted.

I have some downtime at work so I thought I'd start up on my blogging again... I suppose this could symbolize a new beginning for me, and I mean that in a variety of ways. I just want to give y'all a window to view the life of your's truly. Not to say that it'll be interesting at all times, but hey, it's a bit o' reading material :)

Anyway, so to do a quick catch up:
I'm back in California! Can I get a wooo hoooo!! I'm working for an investment firm in the one and only Pasadena :p. TJ's growing up so fast. He's walking, sort of talking, running and being a little boy (not a baby!). I'm working out a lot, going out some and trying to get back in touch with the friends I haven't seen in ages! Well I've been back for a few months now and things are looking alright. There have definitely been some shaky places that I'm dealing with right now, but I'm hoping for the best. Afterall, I'm a mommy, things have to be alright at all times. Well I just wanted to get in a quick intro to my new blog. So welcome one and all...\

So there are a few people coming back home that I'm really excited about.
First of all, MILES IS COMING HOME!

He's supposed to be back in a few days and I'm stoked.. yes I said it, stoked! He's been in Iraq for a little while now and it's such a relief to know he's back and he's safe.

Secondly, MY SISTER IS COMING HOME!

Jess is coming home on the 15th. She just started finals, so she's got a little while to go still, but I'm still excited. And when she comes home we're supposed to go out Thursday night, Friday night and Saturday night to celebrate her non-teenage birthday! So yes, it's going to be a rough weekend, but definitely well worth it. So yay for homecomings!

Well i think it's only right to end on a high note like that. And to top it off, one more full day until it's Friday! Woot woot!
